The Castello del Sole sits on a 140-hectare estate right on Lake Maggiore near Ascona and runs its own fields for rice, vegetables, fruit and grapes. The Cantina alla Maggia is the estate's in-house winery and produces wine served in the hotel's own restaurants. Seven restaurants belong to the resort, from the elegant Locanda Barbarossa to the snack offering at the private beach.
The private beach on the lake and the sprawling palm gardens allow for outdoor ceremonies and receptions in a Mediterranean-feeling setting. The hotel's spa covers 2,500 square meters. The resort belongs to the Living Circle group and also offers a boat transfer from Locarno, which is convenient for guests without a car.
