Barbara Stalder

Barbara Stalder is a trained ceremony speaker who has held independent, secular weddings since 2008, ceremonies that are not legally binding and belong to no denomination by design. From Thun she travels to the Bern region, to Uri and, if needed, across all of Switzerland. Her dialect is part of her presence: she speaks Central Swiss German, which goes down well at ceremonies in central Switzerland.

Besides classic independent weddings she also accompanies vow renewals and themed weddings, medieval or western style, for instance. Rituals like handfasting, fire bowls or elemental ceremonies can be worked in on request. Same-sex couples are explicitly welcome. The ceremony grows out of conversations with the couple and reflects what makes the two of them who they are, rather than following a fixed template.
