pianobeat

Pianobeat is a Zurich music ensemble built around a classically trained concert pianist and organist. Depending on the booking, vocals, cello, and guitar join in. The ensemble covers every part of a wedding: ceremony, champagne reception, dinner, cake cutting, first dance, and evening party. A single segment can be booked just as easily as the whole day.

The repertoire covers more than 200 songs across jazz, swing, bossa nova, lounge, acoustic pop, rock, Latin, classical, and Swiss titles, spanning the 1950s through the 2020s. Rather than sticking to fixed sets, they read the crowd and decide on the fly which songs come next. Between segments, supplementary background music runs from a laptop. Their own sound and lighting setup is included, and venue walk-throughs beforehand are part of the process. Communication in German and English.
