Esprit Quartett

Tap a star to rate
Esprit Quartett is made up of two violins, viola, and cello, and performs as a trio or duo depending on the occasion. The four musicians studied at conservatories in Basel, Zurich, Brussels, Boston, and Sydney; Mihai Cocea is principal violist at the Brussels Philharmonic. Original arrangements written exclusively for the ensemble complement the standard repertoire.
Stylistically the quartet moves between classical chamber music, romantic pieces, tango, jazz, and pop, which lets it cover the processional, the ceremony, and the aperitif that follows without a jarring shift in style. The group plays anywhere in Switzerland and communicates in German, English, and French.
